SmartHug Supports Mamas
Mother’s Day is around the corner. Plans made, gifts shipped, and now, it’s time to relax and have a heart-to-heart chat with the mamas. This month, the conversations have revolved around misogyny, fear, and expectations. When viewed with the lens of a woman, these topics are serious obstacles in terms of both personal and professional fulfillment. That’s why, the team has been thinking about what it takes to be a mother, the immediate challenges of starting a family and how to juggle the struggle.
It is time for the community to accept motherhood as a natural progression of life and remove barriers that restrict women from harnessing their complete potential. Across the country, the voices of women are being recognized. Perhaps, it is time to set things right at home. As equals, how must women define their goals within the context of a relationship? How must a woman navigate the demands of her job to support her family life? There are no straight answers. But the hope is that the family and the employer co-operate to facilitate an enabling atmosphere for the woman to sustain and grow. Childcare is not the sole responsibility of the female relations. The community must partner and support the individual to the largest possible extent.
SmartHug thinks mothers have good gifts for the home and the office – the love and attention to detail, the power to nurture and the strength to smile through it all.
